Curtin University: English test requirements
Curtin has one minimum for all courses (IELTS 6.5 with no band below 6.0) and a published list of courses that need higher English; the exact IELTS level of each is on its course page. Curtin also publishes a PDF chart converting each IELTS level to TOEFL, PTE and other tests, used here for the higher bands. Both the old and the new TOEFL and PTE formats are shown with their start dates.
Checked on 31 Oct 2026 against the university's own pages. Universities change their requirements, and some courses ask for more. Always confirm on the university's page before you book a test or apply.

Curtin has one minimum for all courses (IELTS 6.5, no band below 6.0) and a list of courses with higher English criteria whose IELTS scores are on each course page. Tests must be taken within two years of application and may be used until the next semester intake. Equivalent scores for the higher bands come from the English competency equivalents chart (a PDF hosted on Curtin applynow storage and linked from the Curtin page). The chart gives 14 columns; the IELTS profile of each course comes from its own course page, and the matching chart column was used. Chart sub-scores are listed in the order printed.
