RMIT University: English test requirements
RMIT publishes one score table for undergraduate, postgraduate and research study with five levels, from IELTS 6.5 up to IELTS 8.0 with no band below 8.0, plus a separate table for foundation and vocational study. Each course page states which level applies.
Checked on 31 Oct 2026 against the university's own pages. Universities change their requirements, and some courses ask for more. Always confirm on the university's page before you book a test or apply.

Undergraduate, postgraduate and research degrees
Minimum scores vary by course, even at the same study level, so check the Entry requirements section of the course page. Tests must have been sat within two years of the course start. TOEFL tests taken on or after 21 January 2026 must be TOEFL iBT Australia, and results on the 1-6 scale are not accepted.

A lower table applies to foundation, vocational and associate degree study. The page marks Cambridge B2 First as 'Not applicable' for associate degrees.
