Dartmouth College: English test requirements

Dartmouth states no minimum English scores at undergraduate level and only describes what most successful applicants score. Graduate arts and sciences recommends score ranges. SAT or ACT is required, and the Tuck MBA accepts GMAT or GRE with no minimum.

Checked on 31 Oct 2026 against the university's own pages. Universities change their requirements, and some courses ask for more. Always confirm on the university's page before you book a test or apply.

“Dartmouth does not have minimum required scores on English proficiency exams”

Undergraduate FAQ: is an English proficiency test required?

Graduate (Guarini School)

This is the Guarini School of Graduate and Advanced Studies rule, covering arts and sciences graduate programmes; professional schools such as Tuck, Thayer and Geisel were not checked and may differ. Programme pages can vary (the page notes mathematics and MET have different requirements). Applicants with a degree from a US institution, or a bachelor's degree from a non-US institution where English was the sole primary language of instruction, are exempt. The page gives recommended ranges within a holistic review, not minimums.
