Cardiff Metropolitan University: English test requirements
Cardiff Met states an IELTS score on each course page and publishes one table of equivalent scores in other tests for two groups: courses that ask for IELTS 6.0 and courses that ask for IELTS 6.5. The same table serves undergraduate and postgraduate courses, and some courses ask for more than IELTS 6.5, so the course page is what counts.
Checked on 2 Nov 2026 against the university's own pages. Universities change their requirements, and some courses ask for more. Always confirm on the university's page before you book a test or apply.

Undergraduate
The test table has two columns, for courses with an IELTS 6.0 requirement and courses with an IELTS 6.5 requirement; it does not name the courses in each, so the IELTS figure on the course page decides the column. Course pages checked today: BSc Psychology asks for IELTS 6.0 with 5.5 in all elements; BSc Speech and Language Therapy asks for IELTS 7.5 with 7.0 in all elements, above both columns, and the table gives no equivalents for that level. All tests must be taken at a UKVI approved secure centre and dated within two years of the course start.
