Anglia Ruskin University: English test requirements

ARU publishes one standard set of scores for undergraduate and one for postgraduate courses, with a separate lower line for degrees with a foundation year. Some courses ask for more, so the course page decides. Duolingo is accepted only as an alternative where an in-person test is not possible.

Checked on 31 Oct 2026 against the university's own pages. Universities change their requirements, and some courses ask for more. Always confirm on the university's page before you book a test or apply.

Tests are normally valid for two years. The university reserves the right to run extra English verification checks when issuing the CAS for visa applicants.

“Not on the list” means the test does not appear on the university page we checked. It does not mean the test is refused: the course page or the admissions office may still accept it, so ask them.
