Staffordshire University: English test requirements

Staffordshire publishes one set of English test scores (IELTS Academic 6.0 with 5.5 in each component) for most courses at all levels. Some courses, such as Journalism and Law, ask for more, and each course page states its own requirement.

Checked on 2 Nov 2026 against the university's own pages. Universities change their requirements, and some courses ask for more. Always confirm on the university's page before you book a test or apply.

Undergraduate

The page does not separate undergraduate and postgraduate requirements. Some courses have higher entry criteria because of accreditation, and for those some country-specific qualifications may not be accepted. Tests are valid for two years. Nationals of majority English-speaking countries, UK nationals and UK degree holders may be exempt for courses at CEFR B2.
