University of Regina: English test requirements

Undergraduate minimums differ for Education and Nursing, which have their own higher tables and fewer accepted tests. Graduate minimums are set in a table with different rows for the general Faculty of Graduate Studies minimum, public policy (JSGS), Film and English.

Checked on 31 Oct 2026 against the university's own pages. Universities change their requirements, and some courses ask for more. Always confirm on the university's page before you book a test or apply.

Undergraduate English Language Proficiency (ELP) requirements

Graduate

Exempt if the applicant has a four-year bachelor's or a graduate degree from an English-language institution (Canadian or outside Canada, with English as the official language of instruction). The Faculty of Graduate Studies reserves the right to ask for a test anyway. Scores are valid for two years; Institutional TOEFL is not accepted; a minimum score may make an applicant ineligible for graduate teaching assistantships. For TOEFL the table gives only per-band figures for the general minimum, Film Studies & Film Production and English. TOEFL institution code 0830 (from the graduate eligibility page).
