Standard XII English can replace a test: 70% matches IELTS 6.0 and 75% matches IELTS 6.5, only from CBSE, CISCE, Maharashtra, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana boards, taken within seven years of the course start. The page says: “Only accepted if taken within seven years of the course start date.”

WAEC, WASSCE or NECO English at grade C6 or above is accepted for undergraduate and taught postgraduate degrees; the International Foundation Year needs a UKVI IELTS. The page says: “If you have a WAEC or NECO in English language with at least a C6, you shouldn't require an English test to study a bachelor's or master's degree.”

TOEFL appears once, in the page's worldwide list of regional qualifications, and is not tied to an IELTS level, so it is not attached to any band. As printed: for tests taken from 21 January 2026, 4.5 overall with no less than 4.0 in each component; for tests taken on or before 20 January 2026, 79 overall with Listening 17, Reading 18, Writing 17 and Speaking 20.
